MSIG USA has entered a national partnership with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, aiming to support the hospital’s efforts in treating and researching childhood cancer and other serious diseases.

The insurer will participate in the 2025 St. Jude Thanks and Giving campaign, a nationwide initiative that brings together major brands and consumers during the holiday season to raise funds for St. Jude’s mission: “Finding cures. Saving children.”

Peter McKenna, CEO of MSIG USA, said the company’s work is shaped by a broader purpose beyond insurance products and services.

“Partnering with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a renowned leader in advancing cures for childhood cancer, allows us to bring that purpose to life in a profound way,” McKenna said.

In recent years, St. Jude has expanded its global reach through a collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO), launching the Global Platform for Access to Childhood Cancer Medicines.

The platform is designed to address significant disparities in survival rates, as children in low- and middle-income countries often face survival rates below 30%, compared to over 80% in high-income countries.

As part of the collaboration, MSIG USA employees across the country will engage in St. Jude events by volunteering, fundraising, and connecting with families supported by the hospital. The company’s involvement is expected to help St. Jude maintain its policy that families do not receive bills for treatment, travel, housing, or food, allowing them to focus on their child’s care.

Since its opening in 1962, St. Jude has contributed to increasing the overall childhood cancer survival rate in the US from 20% to over 80%. The hospital treats approximately 400,000 children worldwide who develop cancer each year.

“We are proud to welcome MSIG USA into the St. Jude family,” said Lyles Eddins, senior vice president of relational advancement at ALSAC, the fundraising and awareness arm for St. Jude. Eddins noted that partnerships like this are vital for supporting research and treatment development.

The partnership also comes as MSIG USA continues to expand its leadership team and distribution network. Earlier this month, the company appointed Hank Kinne as regional distribution leader for the Mountain and South Central states.
