MRH Trowe announced Tuesday that it had completed several targeted transactions to advance its growth strategy, including acquiring a majority stake in Pantheon Underwriters GmbH and four regional brokerage firms.

The German insurance brokerage and advisory group acquired its stake in Pantheon Underwriters through German Underwriting GmbH, its in-house managing general agent. Pantheon Underwriters, described as a specialist in M&A transaction insurance in the DACH region, has operated since 2022, developing tailored insurance solutions and managing claims on behalf of carriers.

“Acquiring a stake in Pantheon Underwriters is strategically valuable and presents a significant benefit for both parties,” Ralph Rockel, chief executive of MRH Trowe, said. “Pantheon complements our service portfolio with its highly specialised product that is increasingly relevant for many mid-market companies.”

Rockel added that MRH Trowe’s market position would provide Pantheon with access to a broader client base, while collaboration with local banks would enable effective reach into the small- and mid-market segment.

MRH Trowe also acquired four brokerage firms to strengthen its regional coverage: vVs-wrzeciono Versicherungsmakler GmbH in Mülheim an der Ruhr, EURASS GmbH in Oberhausen, Schmalenberg GmbH in Grimma near Leipzig, and Eggebrecht GmbH in Mühlhausen, Thuringia. The acquisitions are expected to enhance the company’s expertise in serving commercial, industrial and real estate clients.

The vVs-wrzeciono firm serves over 200 corporate clients with more than 4,000 policies, focusing on industrial companies and mid-sized businesses. EURASS is a mid-market brokerage with seven employees, whilst Schmalenberg has operated for 30 years, specialising in the construction and real estate sectors with 22 employees. Eggebrecht brings specialist expertise in property management and real estate with around ten employees.

“After an intensive integration phase, we are now deliberately targeting further growth in our Insurance segment through specialisation strategies and regional development,” Rockel said. “With Pantheon, we are broadening our scope of services, while new brokerage teams in central Germany strengthen client relationships and local expertise, including within the strategically important real estate segment.”

The four brokerages will be fully integrated and operate under the MRH Trowe brand, while the Pantheon acquisition strengthens the group’s specialist MGA solutions. Financial details of the transactions were not disclosed.
