MoneyHero launches AI project to boost insurance growth

Transformation

MoneyHero Limited, a digital platform specialising in personal finance comparison and insurance brokerage across Greater Southeast Asia, has announced the rollout of Project Odyssey, an artificial intelligence initiative designed to enhance revenue and operational efficiency.

The company, which is listed on NASDAQ under the ticker MNY, is integrating AI-driven solutions into its business, beginning with the Car Insurance SaverBot Beta, now available to select users on WhatsApp in Singapore.

Financial results and business expansion

The introduction of Project Odyssey comes on the heels of notable financial progress. MoneyHero reported a revenue increase exceeding 20% from the first to the second quarter of 2025.

As of the end of June, the company’s cash and cash equivalents stood at approximately US$30 million.

Its membership base reached 8.6 million across four key markets:

  • Singapore
  • Hong Kong
  • Taiwan
  • The Philippines

Insurance and wealth management products contributed over one-fifth of total revenue by mid-year, with the company aiming for this segment to account for more than 30% by the close of 2026.

MoneyHero’s leadership has indicated that the business is on course to achieve positive adjusted EBITDA and generate free cash flow in the latter half of 2025.

“We’ve demonstrated we can grow profitably – Q2 marked our first quarterly net income,” said Rohith Murthy, CEO of MoneyHero Group. “Project Odyssey applies AI pragmatically to remove customer friction and lift conversion across our higher-margin verticals. The Car Insurance SaverBot Beta converts a multi-step form into a single conversation, making it easier for our 8.6 million members to navigate complex financial decisions.”

Car Insurance SaverBot Beta and compliance measures

The Car Insurance SaverBot Beta, currently in pilot testing, allows users to compare car insurance options, review policy details, and complete purchases through direct links to insurer websites – all within a conversational interface on WhatsApp.

Early internal data suggests that the new process reduces the time required to obtain a quote from eight to 12 minutes down to under three minutes.

The bot’s design aligns with regulatory standards set by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) for digital insurance brokerages.

It includes protocols for full disclosure and ensures that complex cases are referred to licensed advisors for further review.

Data collected through the platform is managed in accordance with MAS rules and Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act.

AI integration and market positioning

Over the past year and a half, MoneyHero has focused on streamlining its operations and shifting its revenue mix toward higher-margin products.

Project Odyssey is the next step in this strategy, embedding AI into customer interactions and internal processes to improve conversion rates, reduce service costs, and support the growth of its insurance vertical.

The company’s AI approach leverages its extensive user base and commercial partnerships – over 270 as of June 2025 – and its infrastructure across multiple Southeast Asian markets.

MoneyHero aims to use its proprietary data to deliver personalised financial insights at scale, positioning itself to address the region’s mobile-first consumer behaviour.

In the Philippines, which represents the company’s largest market by membership, messaging platforms such as WhatsApp are widely used for financial services engagement.

Murthy said that the company’s AI strategy is focused on aligning with customer preferences, particularly in regions such as the Philippines where conversational commerce is widely adopted

“By bringing insurance and wealth products into messaging platforms, we’re removing customer friction and making financial empowerment accessible to millions more families across Southeast Asia,” he said.

Plans for AI-driven product expansion

Following the initial deployment of the Car Insurance SaverBot Beta, MoneyHero plans to extend conversational AI capabilities to other product lines, including personal loans, credit cards, and additional insurance offerings.

The company also intends to apply AI-driven insights to wealth management services.

MoneyHero is scheduled to release its third quarter 2025 financial results in December, at which time it will provide further details on Project Odyssey’s development and its anticipated impact on the company’s financial performance in 2026.

The company expects its AI initiatives to begin contributing to revenue growth in the final quarter of 2025, with continued expansion projected into the following year.
