LP Insurance Services LLC has appointed industry veteran James Cohill (pictured) to enhance its consulting capabilities in employee benefits in response to increasing client demand for long-term cost and compliance strategies.
In his role, Cohill will advise clients on employee benefits strategies covering product selection, plan implementation and ongoing administrative management. His responsibilities include handling regulatory and compliance planning as employee benefit laws continue to evolve. LP Insurance said Cohill’s experience spans multiple benefit structures, including traditional health plans and solutions involving health technology integration.
“Joining LP Insurance is an incredible opportunity to bring my carrier experience and client-focused approach to a firm that is both growing and deeply rooted in its communities,” said Cohill. “I look forward to helping clients design benefits strategies that solve today’s challenges while preparing for tomorrow.”
Cohill joins the firm’s Las Vegas office after serving as director of large group at Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield of Nevada, where he oversaw sales and retention for more than 400 public- and private-sector clients representing over 160,000 members.
He brings more than 25 years of experience in the employee benefits and health technology sectors. His career includes leadership roles at UHC/UMR, Accolade and Quantum Health, where he worked in business development, account retention and team leadership across both large corporate settings and startup organizations.
LP Insurance president and CEO Brian Cushard said the hiring of Cohill aligns with the firm’s focus on expanding advisory capabilities for employers.
“James is an exciting addition to LP and the communities we serve,” said Cushard. “His deep carrier ties, strategic insight, and consultative approach strengthen our ability to provide innovative solutions that help clients manage their businesses and support healthier, thriving communities.”
Cohill is also active in community service. He serves as a board member and past president of the Nevada Blind Children’s Foundation. He has also held leadership positions in nonprofit arts organizations.
