The ISC Group, an independent business network for women in the insurance sector, has announced the launch of “The Circle of Influence”. This new, exclusive membership aims to bring together women leaders, board members, and non-executive directors (NEDs) to foster collaboration and drive change within the industry.
The unveiling event took place at Odgers’ London office, where a gathering of senior figures from financial services celebrated the initiative. Attendees had the opportunity to meet members of the newly formed ISC Peer Advisory Committee and key partners, including Odgers, The NED, JP Morgan, and GreenKite.
The Circle of Influence operates on an invitation-only basis, gathering influential women in insurance to enhance boardroom impact, share experiences, and explore practical solutions. Members can also expect to gain insights from expert-led workshops, strategic advice, and curated experiences.
“The Circle of Influence is a powerful platform for women at the highest levels of our industry to unite, exchange valuable insights, foster meaningful connections and opportunities that will shape the future of insurance,” said Carmen Powell, CEO of ISC Group.
Alison Cannon of Odgers added: “The Circle of Influence is a significant step forward in creating a collaborative and empowering environment for women leaders in insurance. We are proud to support ISC Group in this vital initiative.”
The launch arrives amidst a broader focus on women’s empowerment within the UK insurance industry. Organisations across the sector have been highlighting initiatives to advance gender equality.
International Women’s Day (IWD), for example, featured various discussions on accelerating action for gender equality in the insurance sector. Companies such as Markel addressed systemic barriers and biases. Powell also supported the IWD theme, #AccelerateAction, highlighting that it’s not just about conversations but about creating opportunities that help women thrive at every stage of their careers.
The ISC Group boasts a network of over 10,000 members and 100 corporate partners, aiming to empower women to thrive and contribute to a more balanced and inclusive industry.
