Mark Luckin leads Lockton Companies’ Australian Cyber & Technology Sector Practice, providing risk advisory, insurance strategy and placement services specific to cyber, data and technology risks, as well as cyber incident and claims response advocacy. His experience encompasses all sectors advising the ASX top 50, large Private entities, to start-ups, scale-ups and SME’s, locally and internationally.
In his role, Mark regularly advises Boards, the Executive and C-Suite, risk managers and founders across three key phases, Inform, Improve, Insure.
Mark complements his Cyber and Technology Sector expertise with deep, complementary knowledge of the Directors’ & Officers’ Liability, Technology E&O/Professional Indemnity, Cyber, Statutory Liability and Employment Practice Liability insurance classes.
Mark’s expertise in delivering ongoing risk advisory and insurance placement services ranges from Australia’s Largest Cloud-based Health Data Project solution, to the ASX’s largest Tech Sector listing in 2024, and is further underpinned by experience in managing a significant number of high-value Cyber/Tech E&O claims, providing advocacy and advice on direct threat actor negotiation, regulatory and contractually driven reporting obligations and insurance policy response.
Complementing his Bachelor of Laws and Legal Studies, Mark has 12+ years of combined legal and insurance industry experience. He is a regular contributor to the cyber, technology sector and financial lines insurance area through contributions, engagement and membership with the Tech Council of Australia, the Department of Home Affairs, and the regular publication of white papers and guest appearances on high-profile panels.
Prior to joining Lockton, Mark managed complex and litigated claims for one of the world’s largest insurers. He has also spent time working with a number of commercial law firms and Barristers.
