Leadership at Alliant

Thomas W. Corbett - Executive Chairman

Thomas Corbett serves as executive chairman of Alliant Insurance Services. He previously served as chairman and chief executive officer for more than 30 years. During his tenure, Corbett guided the company’s growth and expansion.

Upon joining Alliant in 1977 as a producer, Corbett launched the Public Entity Group, which became one of the nation’s largest public entity insurance programs. Corbett is a graduate of California State University, Long Beach. He is involved in various community and charitable organizations.

Greg Zimmer - Chief Executive Officer

Greg Zimmer is the CEO of Alliant Insurance Services. He previously served as president of Alliant, where he was responsible for implementing the strategic direction of the firm, including all mergers and acquisitions.

Zimmer joined Alliant as chief financial officer in 1998. Prior to this, Zimmer and his partners built a financial services firm that was later sold to GMAC, where he served as senior vice-president. His background also includes experience in corporate finance and venture capital.

Zimmer holds a bachelor’s degree in economics/systems science from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and a master’s degree from the Anderson Graduate School of Management at UCLA.

Ralph Hurst - President

Ralph Hurst serves as president of Alliant Insurance Services. He was formerly president of national brokerage, where he led Alliant’s brokerage teams..

Since joining Alliant in 1987, Hurst has played a central role in the establishment and management of several of the firm’s major programs, including:

Peter Carpenter - Chief Operating Officer

As COO of Alliant Insurance Services, Peter Carpenter is responsible for overseeing all operations of the company. He also directs Alliant’s mergers and acquisitions activity and leads its hiring strategy.

Carpenter has more than 30 years of experience in the insurance industry. He joined Alliant in 2008 when it acquired ClearPoint, a Seattle-based employee benefits consulting firm that he co-founded and where he served as CEO.

Prior to founding ClearPoint, Carpenter served as vice-president of sales and marketing for a large regional insurance brokerage firm and as a group representative for Sun Life Insurance Company. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Colby College in Waterville, ME, where he majored in government and Spanish.

Ilene Anders - Chief Financial Officer

Ilene Anders oversees the company’s finance, accounting, and IT operations. She has experience in both finance and technology and previously served as Alliant’s chief information officer, where she managed client-facing technologies, business intelligence, and systems integration.

Anders also served as Alliant’s vice-president and director of financial planning and analysis. She has worked in investment banking and corporate development with Prudential Volpe Technology Group and GMAC-RFC, and has been a strategic consultant to start-up organizations. Anders holds a master’s degree in business from San Diego State University and a bachelor’s degree in finance from Boston University.

Peter Arkley - President, National Retail Brokerage

Peter Arkley is responsible for developing and implementing the Alliant Retail P&C business and financial strategy, which includes Alliant Specialty business for several key operations. Arkley joined Alliant in 2011.

Before joining Alliant, Arkley was CEO of construction operations at Aon. He has also held senior executive roles with Marsh & McLennan and Johnson & Higgins in New York and Los Angeles. He began his career in 1977 with American International Group, focusing on financial services products such as directors and officers and fiduciary liability insurance. In 2024, Arkley was named by Insurance Business America as a Hot 100 industry leader.

Sean McConlogue - President, Alliant Underwriting and Consumer Solutions

Sean McConlogue has more than 20 years of experience in the insurance industry, particularly specialty program development. Before joining the company in 2003, McConlogue served as president of Affinity Insurance Services, LLC. He also held senior-level management positions with Tristar Insurance Services, Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., and Xerox Corporation.

McConlogue earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of California, San Diego and a master’s degree in international management from Thunderbird, The American Graduate School of International Management.
