The UK insurance sector has experienced a notable rise in claims activity during 2025, driven by a combination of severe weather events, escalating costs in motor repairs, and an uptick in payouts for life, protection, and pet insurance policies.
These developments have placed additional demands on claims carriers, prompting brokers to evaluate service standards more closely.
To identify leading claims carriers, Insurance Business UK undertook a comprehensive survey targeting insurance brokers across the country.
The research team collected feedback on what brokers consider most important in claims handling, including efficiency, technical expertise, and client communication. Brokers were also asked to rate the claims carriers they had interacted with over the previous year.
The data collected was analysed and weighted according to the criteria brokers prioritised. Carriers that achieved the highest ratings for service quality, specialist knowledge, and responsiveness were recognised as 5-star claims providers for 2025.
